Revitalization of the Padělky housing estate in Ždánice

The main point of this diploma thesis is revitalization of housing estate called Padělky in Ždánice. The housing estate is located in the northwestern part of the village. There are nine roads in zone 30. Two of them were already repaired in the first stage. The housing estate is without a transport solution and without the possibility of legal parking. Now the roads are devastated, there are potholes, holes and cracks. Six roads were reconstructed, two were extended. This brought the possibility of detours and improved transport. The new design legalizes the parking space. There are new built parking spaces, too. Conditions for the inhabitants of the housing estate are improving. There are new trees, bushes, rosary, furniture and waste bins. The public lighting will be replaced.

Design of Recycling Bin

The bachelor thesis deals with the design of a set of bins for sorted waste. The aim of the thesis is to design an original product, especially with regard to variability. The key is the ability to fully adapt to the individual needs of the user.

Life After the Bin: Used clothing between gift, commodity, raw material and waste

This thesis explores different lives of used clothing donated into charity clothing bins. Multi-sited ethnographic research makes visible the diverse lives of the collected material that vary substantially depending on the type of organization and the scale of their work, ranging from small non-profit organizations to large-scale recycling companies. The key practice is sorting which separates heterogeneous materiality into specific categories and transforms discards into gifts, commodities, materials for recycling or waste. However, these categories are far from being fixed or clear-cut, rather the value of the collected postconsumer material is continually being negotiated and is shifting dependent on the context. Webová aplikace "Bin finder"

The bachelor thesis deals with the creation of web application "Bin finder", which will provide the users with relevant data on the location of containers intended for sorted municipal waste. The application will be developed in the form of a SPA (Single Page Application). Part of the work is tender documentation, analysis of functional and non-functional requirements, code documentation, test and user documentation.
